Just Believe

Hey there... sorry it's been a little while.. seems like my life is full as I am sure your's is as well with the Holidays. I just wanted to share the cards I made for my co-workers. I made 30 of them and it was so much fun. If you are a crafter I don't need to tell you my reasoning for not throwing anything away. ( I can see all your heads nodding ) LOL. I have had these lids in my stash for a long time.. I always told my self I would make ornament for my tree with them. Well that didn't happen. Then here comes Christmas and what do you get for #30 co-workers without breaking the bank. Well I wanted to get them all the same thing.. but what would that be for different genders and some with kids.. some without..some married some single... then I started thinking and ideas started popping into my head... With the help of my hubby.. this is what transpired.

Cards with matching ornaments. My hubby drilled the holes and painted them all white. While those were drying I was in my craft room.... for days... lol. I cut my card pannel 5x4 got out my MISTI and used all my Tim Holtz brown inks that I had on my wood grain background stamp which was perfect because it covered the whole card. then I die cut the reindeer out of craft card stock 3 for each card. Some I sprayed with sticky adhesive others I backed with double sided tape. Then I did about 5 cards at a time and die cut the dear out of the card. because I wanted the same dear to go back in the same panel it had been cut out of.

I then used a very bright red embossing ink and did the nose and the sentiment.

The ornament dears are stacked 3 high and the believe and the nose was cut out of glitter paper and glued on  and then the sparkly silver string was strung through and tied in a knot.

I found at my local 99 cent store red and white polkadot party bags which came with silver twist ties. I bought white tissue paper and wrapped each ornament up along with the card, which the inside said "Merry Christmas My Friend" it was so much fun. My hubby and I make a excellent team. BTW we got married on New Years Day! Which he is taking me away for 2 days. YIPPY SKIPPY!

I haven't been able to do a challenge in a while so I want to link up to FUSION
And I also want to link up to AS YOU SEE IT
And last but not least Less is More

I hope you enJOYed!

Thanks Friend

Thanks for stopping by. I have a card to share with you for the Mixed Media Challenge at Happy Little Stampers. Mixed Media.. it is something I am new to. I am making a clean and simple card but using all kinds of mediums.

I used Platinum embossing powder to stamp the elephant which is part of the Whimsical Friends stamp set by HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS. I used milled lavender ink by tim holtz over a clear embossed panel of the thanks word from that whimsical friends set. I sprayed perfect pearls mixed in water to give it that shine so it would match my blanket tile which is actually a Mosaic tile sticker I have them in 3 sizes and I used the 15mm for the blanket and the 5mm as a diamond after the friend. I got out my Zig clean brush markers to color the elephant.. and last but not least I gave him a little googlie eye.

Hope I have you some inspirations that mixed media can be clean and simple too. Now go create.. after all that is what we love to do right?
After all you could win a stamp set from the
shop.

Hope you enJOYed

Peace

It is the time of the season that you want PEACE. Sometimes, quietness is where I get my peace when it doesn't come from within. Where I live, outside,  the night it is quiet. It is a sleepy little town that when you step outside into the night air, it is  whole different world from where you stepped out of. The noise that I leave in the house... the hum of the refigerator.. the whirl of the washer, the TV ( that blasted TV) someone playing a guitar, someone in another room listening to music, someone else snoring because they have had a long day, the dishes being done from dinner... and because it is getting cold now so there is the snap snap snap of the fire place, the dogs finally stopping their tap tap tap on our floors. But when I step out side into the crisp cool air and look up into the sky and see all the stars. They are so bright and the depth.. like you can just reach up and touch them.. and the night sky so dark, dark, blue, and that brings me PEACE.

Our theme over at Happy Little Stampers is STAR.
Make a Christmas card with a star.

So this is a stamp by Memory box. I inked it up Chipped Sapphire by Tim Holtz and clear embossed over it to make it shinny. I used the Mixed Christmas Sentiments PEACE I and embossed it to match,  then brought the ink out to fade it out to the sky.

I left the bottom white to represent snow. I then die cut the largest star out of a frame of red card stock to make it POP. I die cut multiple layers out of black card stock and stacked them up to create dimension in multiple sizes of stars

So go make a card with some sort of star and  link up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge

After all you could win this bold #'s set
