Oh Happy Day

Oh happy day... I love this little diddy.. It is such a happy tune. It was in Sister Act 2 if you don't know it or would like to know here is a link OH HAPPY DAY to you tube

Over at Happy little stampers they are having Design team calls. and yesterday I made a card and forgot to put DT after it. Hump.... so what to do..... what to do..... make another card. This little diddy of a tune has been popping in my head because my hubby got home yesterday after being gone for a month in Chicago working. Then this card popped in my head and here it is.

I took every O in every alphabet set I had and inked them up in every bright color I could find! So fun! Sometimes when I make cards I want it to be perfect I forget to have fun. This card was fun. It doesn't have to be perfect just perfectly me!

This is the sketch. Isn't it bright and cheery?

So I am linking this up to Happy little stampers DT sketch challenge

I so hoped you enJOYed looking as much fun as I had making it

Christmas in May

Over at happy little stampers they are having a design team call on all of their blog challenges CAS Sketches... (which I forgot to put DT after my name (dunce should be my name  LOL) Well anyway It is all about having fun right? Stamping and making cards is what makes me happy and I have fun doing it. So even if I don't get chosen I will still stamp :)

This is the card I made for the Christmas challenge.. which is  why this challenge is awesome because by the time CHRISTmas rolls around all your cards are practically done.

I took some plain brown wrapping paper and cut and tore it up on one side and adhered to my grey card base by a jute string. Nothing says Christmas to me than brown wrapping paper you can decorate it, write on it, stamp on it, tie it up with different color ribbon, etc etc etc.

Then I stamped my two candy canes in red and then inked them with white chalk. Then stamped the little Merry Christmas in the corner.

On the inside of the card I stamped the legend of the candy cane in the same ink and perforated the  card, punched a hole, put some jute string in it so it can be used as a book mark.

tada... card with a little gift. I love books and like to give some of my favorites that I have read throughout the year as a present topper.

Hope you enJOYed

Feeling Fabulous

Happy little stampers is having a Design Team call on all three of their blog challenges.. CAS, Sketch, and Christmas. (how fabulous it must be to be on one) It is something I would love to do. I am a detail oriented type of person so I think  that means I like a set of rules to follow, but I am also artistic... so I like to be creative with those rules... think outside the box a little bit. So I am going to try out. This one is for the sketch challenge.

For this card I embossed in clear the little sports car and then just started water coloring. I made the road by using black and then sopping it up and layering it a little thicker under the tires for the shadow effect. The sun I wanted a bold sun and the clouds I wanted to represent the best possible day to be driving around in a little convertible car, then the exhaust are actually bubbles from a fish stamp I have. But as you all know you can't really control how watercolor turns out you just have to play with it.

I then water colored another piece and cut it into a small strip to represent the yellow line that goes down the street. And inked up a little sentiment that I thought would be exactly how I would feel if I was driving that car.

FABULOUS - AMAZING - TERRIFIC - AWESOME - FANTASTIC

I then covered the car with glossy accents... after all who doesn't want their convertible shiny?

The reflection of the yellow and black in the white wall tires was just an added bonus of what you get when you play with water color.

This one is for the guys. (although if you look real close in the picture... the woman is driving LOL)

Hope you enJOYed

Mercibeaucoup

Thanks comes in many emotions.. sometimes you can say thanks to someone just cause they let you go infront of you cause you only have 1 item and they have a whole basket full, sometimes you can say thanks because you are being sarcastic by not meaning it at all because they cut you off, or sometimes you just need to say thanks in a different way to let them know you really really mean it. If that is the case then say it in a different language. MERCIBEAUCOUP which means thank you very much.

Over at Less is More their challenge is metal. Use something metal on your card. This card has a silver metal label holder on it with gold brads to hold it on.

I stamped the image in gold embossing powder and the little dots above and below the picture just for some added interest I scraped a few off here and there. I then splattered red and gold splatters  sparingly to create a little grunge.. although I think they could pass as freckles :)

This is a 7 inch tall card. I found ream of  14x12 inch glossy paper at a thrift store and snatched it up quickly!

Over at shopping our Stash the challenge is to  use Silver and Gold together. I had these Label holders in my stash for ever, so glad I got to use it. I want to link my card there

At TIME OUT challenges their's is grunge with and optional twist of embossing.

Hope you enJOYed

Tassel Tail

Ever have one of those AHA moments when your in your craft room (or space) creating and something comes to you and you're like AHA let me try this... Well this is what happened to this card. Over at Curtain Call totally tassel is the challenge. I have every stamp I own an image stamped in a catalog so I can just look through it and see what I have. Looking  for tassel images I found I had none. :( but I thought about making a tassel and putting it on the card.. then I got distracted making this card for a friend of mine who is just precious and she loves fur babies. One of her fur babies is a horse who kinda looks like this. PLUMP is what she calls him. Well it was her birthday so I wanted to make a card for her. So that is when the AHA moment happend a tail could be a tassel.

The clouds are from Paper smooches and the Sentiment from Simon says stamp.

This precious friend loves a certain verse in the bible and she wanted to me to make her some cards with that verse and I though why not make them for her for her birthday. So here they are. ( I apologize now for this long post.

I printed this verse from my computer on card stock 4 times then flipped them over and printed again 4 times and cut in half gave me 8 cards. Then I just started looking through my catalog for images that I thought would work to bring a sense of relaxation.

I clear embossed each image and then watercolored them.

a little bit of wink of stella was used  on a few of the cards.

then I made a card box and tied it up with a ribbon.

then I got a little more creative. I recently went to Chicago where my hubby is working and got to spend Mother's day weekend there. (it was fabulous). We got a bag full of some goodies for being Hilton honnors

so I created a little circle that would just cover up the inside of the circle  but the bottom still says experiences worth sharing. I inked lavender around the edges to match the tissue paper

I want to link up to Curtain Call Totally Tassel

I want to link up to AAA birthday extravaganza party

So I hope you enJOYed.
