You Bless Me

Well I have been on a hiatus... I changed job status from full time to part time. I moved from a major hospital setting to a little slower paced place. I (my hubby) built me a new desk for my craft room which inspired me to reorganize.... and so the hiatus is over and  here I am back... making stuff... LOL which is where I am happiest.

I saw the challenge on the November mix it up challenge and thought I would join in. Since I was making some book marks for my Aunt's bible class and this was a sample of one... she chose different one so instead of letting it go to waste I cut it up and made a card.

So this is a little skinnier than a regular A2 size card it is 3 1/2 by 5  1/2.

I inked up the poinsettia from Ellen Hutson in Tim Holtz candid apple and the leaves in mowed lawn. After I stamped them I water colored them by pulling the ink into the center away from the outer line. I absolutely loved how they turned out. Then I stamped the sentiment from HoneyBee (You Bless Me). Cute little card if I do say so my self.

Hope you enJoyed.

#YOUROCK

The Olympics are interesting to me to watch. It makes my muscles twitch to get out an exercise. I get up go outside to do some outdoorsy things and it hits me in my face......104 heat wave.. so I go back inside and go to my craft room and create this

I ink blended the colors of the rings blue, yellow, black, green, and red and a piece of card stock, using Tim Holtz broken china, squeezed lemonade, candied apple, black soot,  and lucky clover.

I cut it out with a metal die by The Crafters Workshop (3x4 circles) and cut multiples from black card stock as well. Layered them up and put them on a 4x1/2 by 5 card stock folded in half. Stamped the sentiment from Happy Little Stampers #YOUROCK

I then used wink of stella on the circles but I just couldn't get a great picture of it... (Must of been the heat lol)
I would like to link up to Game # 71 blending

I would like to enter this card in the Happy little stampers anything goes die challenge

Thanks for looking
Hope you enJOYed

Lucky

Are the Irish Lucky... or do they toot their own horn.... well I did some digging since I am Irish.. among other things. It turns out the Irish were not very lucky.. that is why some had came to America.  They were invaded by the British ( seems they did that to America as well) They had a potato famine. (why couldn't they just grow something else ) So the Luck of the Irish way back when was not a good thing... but the word was turned around sometime to mean good fortune.. so here is my Lucky card.

I took the clover stamp which has "May the road " written in the shape of the clover and clear embossed all over the card. Then I stamped and embossed on green pattern paper and velum and cut them out.

I inked 2 different colors on the white panel and blended them together

I stamped my greeting with my MISTI over and over till I got a nice impression since I had already embossed this area

I die cut another clover ( papersmooches) out of green glitter and put a green brad in the center to hold it all together.

This is for the challenge over at Simply Create Too
USE ONLY GREEN

Splish Splash

Hey all you crafters out there... There is another challenge going on at the Happy Little Stampers Mixed Media Challenge.. and the challenge this time is WATER. Now you can water color or color water which ever you like  but I decided to take it literally so this is my interpretation.

I first clear embossed the square background stamp from SSS. Then I inked up two colors of blue SSS lake shore and SSS steel blue and blended them together

Then I took my raindrop stencil from SSS and mixed some texture paste with Distress ink blueprint sketch ink and mermaid lagoon to dye the paste the color I wanted.

I then die cut out the umbrella to make a shaker card.  I then took glossy accents and put it over each of the rain drops to give it that realistic look. I found the sentiment at my local dollar store (love it when that happens) I inked it up on Vellum paper and clear embossed over the top of black ink to make it POP and cut out around the words

If you play along you could win a stamp set from Happy Little Stampers

hope you enJOYed

What's in a shape

What does shape have to do with it? A new challenge thats what. March Christmas Challenge at Happy Little Stampers is all about a Shape.. What shapes remind you of Christmas.. Snowflakes are a big on for me.. but how do you handle a snowflake without getting cold hands? A mitten of course.

This die set is from Memory Box (plush series) I plan to make some mittens out of felt for Christmas this year so getting this die out now is going to help me get started early (wink wink)

I sewed all around with gold metallic thread and the little cuff I left open and it fits a gift card perfectly!

I sewed the snowflake in gold to match
The greeting is from Happy Little Stampers Mixed Christmas Sentiments I love this set.. it has so many fonts in it.

Hope you enJOYed!

Happy New Year 2016

A New Year is upon us. That to me means new things to do and new ways to do them. I am having a rough time already the start of this new year. My job is moving locations. We are going from the second floor to the first floor of the hospital.. that is not so bad... actually it is better.. bigger space more room, however we are starting an all new system. Therefore we are babies.. brand new ones.. LOL a system we no nothing about with no training.. only one day on a simulator ( I can tell you that is not enough) But anyway sorry to vent here. But another thing I am doing at this rough time in my life is redoing my craft room. One of my Christmas presents from my hubby is new counter tops so everything has to come out.. so everything is in disarray... but that is a good thing. So anyway here is my card for the SIMPLY CREATE TOO blog.

HAPPY NEW YEAR BABY!

HOPE YOU enJOYed!

Thanks so much

It is time for a new challenge over at HAPPY LITTLE STAMPERS. The new challenge is to use a stencil.

My background is a flower stencil that I taped to watercolor paper and then dropped in different colors to make it look like spring. Then I used a tiny dot stencil, dropped in some paste to give some texture.

I then used the Tim Holtz die cut of the the man with the umbrella and popped it up by cutting it twice out of chip board. ( I think I am obsessed with this technique right now , I just love the way it looks ). I needs some thank you cards so used the THANKS SO MUCH stamp from MIX MASH. This set is so versatile I love it.

winter is cold here right now.. so maybe I am channeling my inner spring I don't know but I hope you like it and it inspires you to creates some thank you card using those stencils you maybe just got for Christmas. :)

The challenge is being sponsored by

Hope you enJOYed

Jingle....all the way!

I know I know Christmas is over.. but you can never be too much a head of the game so why not play along at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge JINGLE and get a head of the game! Go on let us inspire you to make a card. I guarantee you'll feel better! I know I did.

I had this idea for a grey bell. So I took two of the Happy Little Stampers sentiments (jingle bells and jingle all the way) from the mixed christmas sentiments. I black heat embossed JINGLE ALL THE WAY in the very center... then I white heat embossed JINGLE BELLS all the way across the rest of the panel.

I used my peerless water color Pearl Gray and Neutral Tint and I just painted them across in stripes and let them blend together.. it looks to me like a cloudy night.. I simply love how it turned out. I dried it then started my die cutting... instead of stacking them with white paper I cut out of black paper and stacked 4 layers up together and then put my pannel on top.

I think the black card stock gives it an instant shadow.

Go on make a card.. I bet already you are singing Jingle Bells.. Jingle Bells.. Jingle all the way!
